Sankt Pölten (Austria)

The place chosen this year to celebrate the Intensive Programme was Sankt Pöten, in Austria. A small town about 70 km far from Vienna, the capital of Austria. Sankt Pölten is a very quiet place where we had 10 really good days, with everything we needed to study, eat, play sports... There are a lot of restaurants to have dinner, nice streets to walk and also great sports facilities.

We really liked the University of Sankt Pölten. It has excellent facilities, it is quite new, with classes and halls well prepared to host the programme.

In addition we were fortunate to enjoy good weather, which favored the visits to Vienna and to the province of Wachau and the tour across the Danube River.

Vienna

We had the chance to see Vienna two days: the first Saturday, when we spent the whole day there, visiting the most unique places in the city, as well as other day, when we discovered the Viennese night, which is also important! =)

We also had, as a weekend activity, a visit to a monastery in the province of Wachau (as a curiosity this monastery was what inspired the one in the movie "The Name of the Rose") and a cruise across the Danube.
